About Me
Behind Coach4Balance is a path shaped by two seemingly different worlds: engineering and leadership, and a lifelong exploration of health, personal growth, spirituality, and what it means to be human. Experiences of loss, transition, and inner transformation eventually brought those worlds together.

Two worlds, one journey
My name is Lars Bodenheimer. My professional path began in electrical engineering and led to more than 20 years in international consulting and leadership. Alongside that career, I continued exploring health, personal development, spirituality, and the different ways we experience ourselves and the world around us.
For a long time, these seemed like two separate worlds. Coach4Balance grew from bringing them together.
Where it began
I was born and raised in Germany, where two very different influences shaped my understanding of life.
My father owned a bicycle business. Cycling became a major part of my life, and I spent years competing in road and mountain bike racing.
My mother introduced me to whole-food nutrition and later established her own energy-healing practice. Through her, I encountered perspectives on well-being that extended beyond physical health.
These interests stayed with me, even as I chose a very different professional direction.
A career built around complexity
With a master's degree in electrical engineering, I spent more than two decades working in the telecommunications and technology industry. My career took me around the world, from consulting and project management to leading teams and organizations.
At the same time, I was raising a family, managing the responsibilities of everyday life, and continuing to explore health, psychology, personal development, and energetic approaches.
I was learning to understand complex organizations and systems while becoming increasingly interested in something much more personal: how the different parts of our lives influence one another—and what happens when they no longer seem to fit together.
When life became personal
My own life brought experiences that couldn't be resolved through analysis, planning, or professional success alone.
A divorce and financial reset challenged my familiar sense of stability and direction. I rebuilt my life and continued my corporate career, but my perspective was changing.
In 2017, my father died unexpectedly. I returned to Germany to grieve with my family and help take care of his affairs.
His death confronted me with the passing of time and the question of how I wanted to live the life I had.
These experiences didn't give me a simple formula for navigating change. They deepened my understanding of how loss and major transitions can reach into our identity, relationships, priorities, and sense of direction.
They also influenced the work I felt drawn to pursue.
A deeper journey
My own journey has also taken me through what I can only describe as a dark night of the soul.
During this period, I accompanied my mother through her cancer journey and, ultimately, her death.
These experiences confronted me with grief, uncertainty, and profound questions about identity, connection, and what truly matters. They brought me into a much more personal relationship with the very themes I had been exploring through my work.
I don't see this journey as a story with a neat ending or a simple lesson to share. It has deepened my understanding of how profoundly life can change—and how experiences of loss, uncertainty, and inner upheaval can also become invitations to look more deeply at who we are, what matters, and how we want to live.
For me, the journey has increasingly become less about becoming a better version of myself and more about returning to, accepting, and learning to love more of who I already am.
Bringing the different parts together
Coach4Balance grew from bringing together parts of my own life that once seemed separate—my analytical and professional background, my interest in health and human development, my spiritual exploration, the methods I've studied, and the experiences that have challenged and changed me personally.
Over the years, I've trained in life and health coaching, PSYCH-K®, HeartMath®, regression work, Reiki, aura surgery, and other approaches to personal and spiritual development. But I don't believe any single method holds the answer for every person or every situation.
What matters to me is the person in front of me. I want to understand what you're experiencing, what may be connected, what matters to you, and how deeply you want to explore. That may involve the practical realities of your life, your body, thoughts and emotions, subconscious patterns, relationships, spirituality, or energetic experience.
At the heart of this work is something even simpler: I want to help people develop a more loving relationship with themselves.
I believe that when we can meet ourselves with greater awareness, compassion, honesty, and love, it changes more than how we feel about ourselves. It can change how we care for our bodies, the choices we make, how we relate to other people, and ultimately how we relate to the world around us.
That's part of what A Return to Yourself means to me.
